Michael Rispin, P.Eng. has been elected to the Executive Committee of the Underground Construction Association of SME
Rispin, Managing Director of Normet's North America companies, will serve in a four year capacity beginning in July 2010. He brings 25 years of industry experience with explosives, construction chemicals and equipment, both from tunneling and mining industry perspectives, to the position. The Underground Construction Association is an industry based organization with a purpose of a multidisciplinary exploration of all professional concerns affecting the wise and effective use of underground space.
Known well to the North American Tunneling community, a primary objective of the UCA of SME is to produce the best professional products available to the industry through its publications, the George A. Fox Conference, The North American Tunneling conference, and The North American Tunnel Demand Forecast. The Executive Committee is made up of owners, engineers, contractors and suppliers to the underground industry.
