Normet’s 21st Customer Center Opened

Normetīs 21st regional customer center, Normet do Brazil, was inaugurated 1st of April, 2009 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil by Normet CEO Jari Osmala with a presence of local mining companies, press and other special guests.

In his presentation Jari Osmala was emphasizing Normet’s strategy for the future with Brazilian mining industry and strong intention to enter civil tunnelling contracting business. He also highlighter the importance of having own regional office in Brazil. That will make it possible to support mining and tunnelling customers locally with optimum sales and Life Time Care services.

The customers were positively welcoming Normet’s local service availability in Brazil.

“Normet do Brasil Importacão e Comercio de Maquinas e Equipamentos Ltda "

Its offices are located in the town of Belo Horizonte, which is one of the mining centers in Brazil. Belo Horizonte is about 600 km northeast from Sao Paolo where head offices of main civil tunnelling contractors are located.

The Americas Regional Director Heikki Ulvila is supervising the operations in Brazil. Daily actions are run by LTC Manager and Technical Sales Engineer Mr. Erice Biduro, and office routines by Administration Assistant Ms. Regia Vitoria. The spare parts stock management and logistics are outsourced to a local company. The service provider MultiDrill has been nominated as an authorized Normet Service Company for Brazil.
Louis Mota, who has a long history in mining and tunnelling equipment sales, has been contracted for next 3 months as a consultant to explore mining and especially the civil tunnelling contracting opportunities in Brazil.

The customer service center will provide support for Normet customers like: AngloGold Ashanti Ltd, Votorantim Metais, Yamana Gold Inc. and Vale (Companhia Vale do Rio Doce) in mining and Queiroz Galvão Group, Grupo Camargo Correa and Andrade Gutierrez S.A. in civil contracting.

Earlier Normet spare parts services where organized by direct deliveries from Finland to the customers, but to establish a strong and reliable foundation for the business and grow the business in Brazil, the local presence with professional Life Time Care team together with fast and direct spare parts services is a necessity.

Normet Brazil is looking very confident for the future.
