September 1st, 2010 marks a new era for Normet LTC (Life Time Care) business. The spare parts business of Normet is taken care of by Normet International from Switzerland and the Global Distribution Centre (GDC) starts its operation in Maarssen, the Netherlands, operated by Ceva Logistics.
Significant growth of Normet’s LTC business and the strategic target to continuously improve the customer service levels have been the main drivers for the new spare parts business and operation model. Normet will continue serving its customers efficiently with genuine highest quality spare parts and with fast deliveries in a timely manner.
The advantages of the new model include that Normet can now serve its customers with shorter response times and close later for same day deliveries. Operational processes are re-engineered, ICT tools updated and all business support functions established accordingly. The improvements will not stop at the 1st of September milestone, but will continue to fulfil service levels for enhancing customer satisfaction.
The GDC is the hub, from where the spare parts are dispatched to customers all over the world, directly or via local Normet distribution centres. The GDC location in Maarssen is located about ½ hour from Amsterdam’s Schipol airport and additionally has excellent road and sea connections in Europe and worldwide. Normet’s partner, Ceva Logistics, is a logistics service company offering warehousing and freight forwarding services, logistics solutions, as well as transportation and distribution management. Ceva Logistics has turnover of € 5.5 billion (2009).
