EFNARC General Assembly was held on 5th of November 2008 in Iisalmi, Finland. Janne Lehto, Normet's Business Line Manager for Sprayed Concrete was nominated as a member in EFNARC Excecutive Committee and as a Chairman of Nozzleman Certification Scheme with the main target to get the European certification program for Nozzleman starting in 2009.
EFNARC, European Federation for Specialist Construction Chemicals and Concrete Systems, is the authorative voice of contractors, manufacturers, raw material suppliers and consultants in the speciality construction products industry. Normet joined EFNARC as company member in 2008.
The aim of the Nozzleman Certification Scheme is to improve the overall quality of sprayed concrete works by raising the knowledge and standard of sprayed concrete operators. This is achieved by certification of experienced Nozzlemen following a theoretical and practical examination of the Nozzleman at his workplace by an Examiner who himself has a wide experience of underground construction and sprayed concrete and has been independently accredited by EFNARC. The Scheme concentrates on wet, robotic sprayed concrete applications typically used in the European market but can be easily adapted to the needs of other market areas as well if necessary.
